do i need experience to begin lessons?

Not at all! We welcome riders of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced competitors.

what should i need for my first lesson?

We recommend long pants or jeans, a boot with a small heel, and a fitted shirt. Helmets are required (18+ can choose for themselves) and can be provided if you don’t have your own. Spurs are not allowed. All forms under the form tab must be submitted.

do i need my own horse?

No, we provide calm, well-trained lesson horses matched to your experience and comfort level. We can teach lessons on your own horse if you have one.

are lessons private or group based?

We offer both! Private lessons provide one-on-one instruction, while small group sessions are available for riders at similar skill levels.

how do i scheDULE, rescheDULE or cancel a lesson?

Lessons can be scheduled in advance by contacting us directly. We need 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling for full credit. Non-emergency cancellations within 24 hour periods may result in full cost of lesson and account hold till paid.

what if i don’t want to ride competitively?

That’s perfectly fine! Many of our riders take lessons simply to learn, relax, and enjoy spending time with horses. We tailor every lesson to your goals, whether that’s casual trail riding, improving your skills, or just having fun in the saddle.

my goal is to own a horse one day, will these lessons help?

Absolutely! Our lessons are a great way to build the skills and confidence needed for responsible horse ownership. You’ll learn not only how to ride but also how to understand horse behavior, care, and handling, setting a strong foundation for the future.

  • Not all lessons are private, unless arranged otherwise. Some lessons may be group lessons.

  • To compete you must ride a minimum of twice a week.

  • Maximum weight is 180lbs (call for any exceptions or questions about rider eligibility)

  • Helmets are required for all riders under the age of 18 (provided if needed.)

  • Spurs are not permitted. Any equipment used during lessons on horses must be approved by Instructor Sarah before use.

  • Accepted terms of payment: Cash, Zelle, Check

  • Students, Riders and Parents can be dismissed from lessons at any moment from mistreatment of the horses, staff or riding grounds.

  • Any dismissed from the program are not eligible for refunds.

  • The speed limit on Diamond B Ranch is 5 miles per hour.

  • To ride you must complete all liability wavers and forms.

  • Under state law, equine professionals are not liable for injury or death resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities

  • Lessons are designed with the well-being of the horses in mind, please understand that some lesson types may be limited based on horse suitability.

  • Lessons are first come first serve basis. Once you have selected your lessons for the month, full payment for the month is expected before you begin that month’s lessons.

  • Lessons can be scheduled week by week but spots are not guaranteed. Lesson times are only held with payment.

  • It is suggested if you or your child is sensitive to criticism in front of others to select private lessons as feedback is delivered real time to best help development.
